This site is a collection of short essays. Some are simple observations on social manners. Others are part of a series of short sections of a proposed book centered on the philosophies of Emile Durkheim and Gilles Deleuze.
While I will talk about social, economic, moral, and other public debates, I am really not interested in the content of any of these debates. I won’t be trotting out my positions on different issues. My interest is in the nature of how we practice public debate, the assumptions behind our knowledge claims, how we convince ourselves on either side that we have truth on our side, etc .
In the tradition of Nietzsche and Foucault, I am interested in the genealogies of our most widely held beliefs in ethics, sociology, economics, politics, etc.
In all cases I appreciate criticisms on tone, style, strength of argument, and content through any comments or messages you choose to offer.
